Maristella Feustle has a masters in jazz studies from the University of North Texas as well as a masters in library science. Maristella plays guitar with Oui Bis and host of other bands. Jazz and classical guitar are her primary interests. However, Maristella has a broad base of talent that she applies well to any style placed before her and is highly regarded by bandmembers and listeners alike in any band she plays in.
Maristella Feustle is the Music Special Collections Librarian at UNT, and is responsible for the assessment, organization, preservation, and curation of the UNT Music Library’s 100-odd special collections. Those collections include the Stan Kenton Collection, the Maynard Ferguson Collection, and two collections connected to Arnold Schoenberg. Ms. Feustle holds master’s degrees in jazz guitar and library science from UNT, and remains active as a guitarist as well as a writer and presenter in her field. Her article “In Case of Sudden Death, Burn This: The Simon Bucharoff Collection at the UNT Music Library” is currently in press; she also enjoys cooking, crafts, and doting on a cat named Spidey.
